UNION COUNTY — Union County school children have a great friend — the NAACP.

Recently, members of the Union chapter of the NAACP met with district superintendent, Dr. Kristi Woodall, to present a generous financial gift of $1,000.

Chapter president, James R. Rice said, “This gift is to be split evenly among the district’s five elementary schools for discretionary use. It is to be spent to meet the specific needs of students in order for them to be successful in school. We want them to know that someone cares about them and is supporting them.”

All five of Union County’s elementary schools will benefit from this donation. The children in these schools are directly in line to reap the rewards of this wonderful gift.

Dr. Woodall stated, “We are touched by the generosity of Union’s NAACP members and are grateful for their partnership in our schools. They are avid supporters of our students and reinforce the importance of obtaining an education.”

This timely and generous donation will be put to good use on behalf of Union County’s students.
