Enjoy reading paperback novels? The Union Carnegie Library has two sections just for you.

The library’s “Paperback” section is filled with popular novels (as well as some popular non-fiction) in paperback form. Common genres in this section include thrillers, romances, and true crime. Paperback items check out for two weeks, just like other items in the collection.

The library also has a “Paperback Browsing” collection. The most common genre in the paperback browsing section is romance, though other items are also included. Unlike other items, paperback browsing books do not follow the same circulation rules. There is no due date for browsing books, and the items do not even show up on an account, so there is no fee if the book goes lost or gets damaged.

In addition to the paperback browsing section, the library now also features a “Hardback Browsing” section, filled with newer, popular copies of items already in the library. If you have a new book you can’t wait to read, and don’t want to wait for the book to come in on hold, check the hardback browsing section to see if there is a copy there.

The paperback and paperback browsing sections are located facing the reference section of the library, between the fiction and non-fiction shelves. The hardback browsing section is located just on the other side of the paperback browsing section at the end of the non-fiction section.
