Hello everyone and Happy Halloween From The Whitty. The Town of Whitmire will hosts its Halloween events this Saturday evening.
Oct. 26 is a day full of activities like the Captains Choice Golf Tourney — tee time is 9 a.m.; Trick or Treaters hit the streets with their parents around 5 p.m.; the TERA Fall Concert at The Strand Theater in Heritage Park at 5 p.m.
This final concert in the series at park will feature The Mill Billy Band with Freddie Vanderford from Union. The opener will take the stage at 5 p.m. and Mill Billy Band takes the stage at 6 p.m. Free food, free music, bring a chair or blanket, make yourself at home.
Plenty of parking on Main Street, stage area is accessed through Gilliam Street entrance, between the Post Office and Roches’ Pharmacy.
Trunk Or Treat
Speaking of Main Street, there is plenty of parking for folks who want to Trunk Or Treat. Feel free to decorate the trunk of your car and hand out goodies. It’s a well lit area and the Booster Club’s Halloween Carnival is across the street in the City Gym.
The gym entrance is between the Whitmire fire department buildings on Gilliam Street. The carnival offers games, music, costume contest for adults and youth. This long running event is the Booster Clubs’ biggest fund raiser. All of these activities are within a circle of each other off Main Street.

Congratulations to the members and director of The WCS Marching Royal Regiment Band on their recent competitions. A small but mighty band, the WCS band is the smallest in the state.
