Ever wondered if the library has a copy of a specific book, but don’t want to spend time browsing the shelves? Want to put a book on hold without making a trip to the library?
The Union County Carnegie Library’s catalog is available online and can be accessed by visiting the library’s website at unionlibrary.org and clicking the “Catalog” tab at the top of the homepage. Through the catalog, you can view UCCL’s entire collection, as well as the collections of all members of the SCLENDS consortium. The catalog allows you to search libraries individually, so you can limit your search to just what is available locally, or, if you do not find what you are looking for locally, you can search all of SCLENDS.
Your UCCL card comes with a PIN number that allows you to access your account from home at all hours. The account login page can be accessed by visiting unionlibrary.org and selecting “My Account” at the top of the page. While viewing your account, you can see what items you have checked out, view the status of any holds you have placed, or see if you owe any fines. You can also set up a circulation history by logging into your account, selecting “Account Preferences” and then choosing “Search and History Preferences.” A record of items checked out will begin immediately after choosing this option. Once you have accessed your account, you can continue searching the catalog and place holds which can be picked up at the library, which you will also be able to track through your account.
Finally, you can update contact information through your account and set how you would like to be contacted when holds arrive. If you did not receive a PIN or do not remember, stop by the library to get a new PIN which you can use to access your account and create a new password.
