10 a.m.-noon: Grace United Methodist Church Relay for Life team will host a vegetable soup sale. The cost of the soup is $7 per quart, and it should be pre-ordered by calling the church office at (864) 427-1266 no later than Thursday, Oct. 31.
2-5 p.m.: Freedom Christian Assembly presents “I Am My Brother’s Keeper” at the Buffalo Community Center. The program is designed to uplift men in the community. Please come out and support.

Wednesday, Nov. 6
5:30 p.m.: The Laura Farr Sunday School Class of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, 372 Wesley Chapel Road, Union, holds their Poor Man’s Supper. The menu includes pinto beans, cabbage, stewed potatoes, cornbread, fatback, tea. Desserts extra. Singing starts at 6:15 p.m. with Kellie Allen and Patty Turner. Takeouts call 427-5319. Thursday, Nov. 7
Noon: The Community Prayer Meeting will be held at the USC gazebo. All are invited to participate in a brief time of prayer for our community, state, and nation, and for the Church. You do not have to pray out loud to participate. Just come and join in silently if you like. If you can’t be at the gazebo, set aside some time during the day to pray for our community, state, and nation. All are welcome.
4-7 p.m.: Augsburg Lutheran Church, 151 Connector Road, Union, holds a spaghetti dinner and bake sale. The menu includes fresh garden salad, baked Italian bread, spaghetti with meat sauce, home-made desserts, and beverages. The meal is $8 per plate. All you can eat — in! Takeout available. 2:30 p.m.: Maple Ridge Baptist Church holds its Annual Missionary Day Program. Our topic will be “Four Women of the Bible.” Our speakers for this event will be Evangelist Debra J. Williamson (Ruth), Evangelist Veronica Clark (Esther), Minister Brenda Byrd (Rebekah), and Minister Juanita Giles (Mary, the mother of Jesus). The Union Moms In Prayer group meets each Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. in the Family Life Center of Bethel United Methodist Church, 1705 Lockhart Highway, Union, S.C. This is an informal gathering of moms, grandmothers, and any other interested ladies who would like to be a part of this important ministry of praying for the students, teachers, and staff of our schools. There is also opportunity, for those who wish, to ask prayer for specific individuals. All ladies are welcome to participate.
