7 a.m.-until: First Baptist Church, Union, holds a yard sale/upscale clothing sale. Some funds will go to missions.
8 a.m.-noon: Life Changing Ministries, 501 Hart St., Union, holds a free giveaway of men’s, women’s, and children’s clothing as well as shoes and pocketbooks.
10 a.m.-3 p.m.: The Mary B. Thomas Girls Youth Circle Unit #16 will have a booth at Empowerment Day at The Jonesville Municipal Complex, 131 N. Main St., Jonesville. Please come out and help them support the cause for finding a cure for cancer.
10 a.m.-3 p.m.: Bridging the Gap Between Church and Community will be held at the old Jonesville High School. It is a Unity Day for the community which will include free fellowship, fun, 42 vendors, education, gospel music, praise dancers, games, clothes closet (free clothes), and a health fair. Sponsored by the Pacolet River Baptist Association Union of Churches, the event is all free and all communities are invited.
Sunday, Oct. 6
10:30 a.m.: New Hope Baptist Church, Linersville Road, Buffalo, holds Pastor Appreciation Day with special singing by The Over Home Boys from Morristown, TN. Rev. Johnny Burgess, pastor. Everyone is welcome.
10:30 a.m.: Sulphur Springs Baptist Church holds Homecoming. Sunday School is at 10:30 a.m. with worship at 11:30 a.m. and lunch served immediately following worship. Rev. Jerry Ford, pastor.

7-11 a.m.: St. Augustine Catholic Church, 103 E. South St., Union, holds a yard sale. A variety of items and lots of clothes will be for sale. If it rains the yard sale will be held inside.
Sunday, Oct. 13
10 a.m.: Calvary Free Will Baptist Church celebrates Homecoming. Singing will start at 10 a.m. with the Riverside Boys. The worship service will start at 11 a.m. with Rev. Cliff Wilson. Dinner will follow the worship service.
11 a.m.: Buffalo United Methodist Church celebrates Homecoming. Rev. Sheila Rogers will be the guest speaker. Everyone is invited to attend and bring lunch which will follow the service in the fellowship hall. Rev. Ron Towery is the church pastor.
11:15 a.m.: The Bethesda Baptist Church Family holds an Appreciation Program for their Pastor Roderick Oglesby Sr. on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013 beginning at 11:15 a.m. with Minister Labarius Edwards delivering the message. This celebration will continue at 2:30 pm with Bishop Joseph Stringfellow, pastor of Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church in Chester delivering the message.
12:30 p.m.: Descendants of George Thomas Hyatt, Amanda Mayes, and Jamie Scott Hyatt holds their annual family reunion at Bogansville United Methodist Church. Please bring a covered dish lunch and drinks. Bogansville’s worship service begins at 11 a.m. You are invited to attend.

6-8 p.m. Union Church of God, 1113 Thompson Boulevard, Union, holds a Bible study on the Healing Oils of the Bible, how they were essential in biblical times and how they can be beneficial today. The speaker will be Dr. Michelle Leigh Weil.
Sunday, Oct. 20
11 p.m.: Bethel United Methodist Church celebrates Homecoming. Rev. Will Brown will be the guest speaker for the worship service. Immediately following the service the church will have lunch and fellowship in the Family Ministries Center. We look forward to sharing this special occasion with all who have a special place in their heart for Bethel. Remember to bring a well-filled basket of food. Tea will be provided but you may bring other beverages if you wish.

They will be at the The Old People Grocery Store Parking Lot in Jonesville. They will also have a Yard Sale along with Hot Dog and Fish Sale. Please stop by and support the cause.
Noon: McBeth Baptist Church, 105 Lawson Avenue, holds a Chinese Auction in the Fellowship Hall. More than 100 items will be available. Tickets are $5 and will be sold at the door. Ticket drop off will be from 10 a.m.-noon. The auction will start promptly at noon. Hot dogs and sodas will be sold. You must be present to win. The auction is sponsored by the Sunday School and Usher Board. The Union Moms In Prayer group meets each Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. in the Family Life Center of Bethel United Methodist Church, 1705 Lockhart Highway, Union, S.C. This is an informal gathering of moms, grandmothers, and any other interested ladies who would like to be a part of this important ministry of praying for the students, teachers, and staff of our schools. There is also opportunity, for those who wish, to ask prayer for specific individuals. All ladies are welcome to participate. The pantry is open Friday from 9:30 a.m. to noon and other times by calling the numbers posted on the sign at the entrance of the annex. Bring identification and proof residence.
