Saturday, Aug. 9


10 a.m.: Monarch Baptist Church holds their 3rd Annual Women’s Conference. The guest speaker will be Minister Bridgett Frederick of Perfecting Faith in Chester. First Ella Franklin. Sumter Franklin, Pastor. Everyone is welcome.


10 a.m.-1 p.m.: Union Church of God, 1113 Thompson Boulevard, Union, holds a Back to School Blast. There will be water slides, bouncers, games, a cookout, and much more. Call 427-4693 or 630-5176 for more information.


Saturday, Aug. 9-Sunday, Aug. 10


9 a.m.-3 p.m & 4-6 p.m.: Lockhart Freewill Baptist Church holds Blast Off Vacation Bible School on Saturday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. with breakfast served at 9 a.m. and lunch served; on Sunday from 4-6 p.m. with the VBS program at 6 p.m. followed by an ice cream social. Ages 3 years old through middle school.


Sunday, Aug. 10


11 a.m., 2:30 p.m. & 7 p.m.: Bethel Baptist Church, 904 Pea Ridge Highway, Jonesville, holds Homecoming and Revival services beginning Sunday at 11 a.m. The 11 a.m. message will be brought by the pastor, Rev. James E. Tillotson. The 2:30 p.m. message will be brought by the Rev. Sumter Franklin of Monarch Baptist Church in Union. Revival will be Monday-Wednesday at 7 p.m. The message will be brought by Rev. Joseph K. Stringfellow of Emanuel Missionary Church in Chester.


Noon-Until: Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 1622 Kelly Road, Union, serves Sunday dinner. The menu includes fried chicken, roast beef, steak & gravy, creamed potatoes, rice & gravy, macaroni pie, green beans, lima beans, slaw, rolls, tea, and dessert. Cost is $8 per person. 2 p.m. & 7 p.m.: Jeter Chapel AME Church holds their Annual Revival. The speaker will be the Rev. John Hill of William Chapel AME Zion Church in Carlisle will be the speaker for the Sunday 2 p.m. service. The guest speaker for the 7 p.m. Monday-Wednesday services will be Rev. Reginaid Morton of Mt. Hebron AME Church of Prosperity. The Rev. Anthony Washington, Pastor.


2:30 p.m.: Paradise AME Church holds their annual one day revival service. Rev. Bridgett Goodwin, pastor of Stonewall Holiness Church in Chapin, will be guest speaker. Rev. Tab Hunter, pastor.


Sunday, Aug. 10-Wednesday, Aug. 13


11 a.m. & 7 p.m.: Saint Matthew AME Zion Church, 499 Maybinton Road, Whitmire, holds its Annual Revival Service. The service starts Sunday at 11 a.m. and continues through Monday through Wednesday at 7 p.m. Rev. Eric Rice is the guest speaker. Rev. J.B. Robinson is the pastor. The public is invited to attend. Special welcome to the Glenn, Tucker, Windbush Family Reunion.


11 a.m. & 7 p.m.: New Hope AME Zion Church in the Sedalia Community holds revival. The revival will begin at 11 a.m. Sunday and will continue at 7 p.m. Monday-Wednesday. Rev. Ronnie McCrorey, pastor.


2:15 p.m. & 7 p.m.: Maple Ridge Baptist Church invites you to our Annual Revival Services. On Sunday, Aug. 10 at 2:15 p.m. the speaker will be Rev. Lee Byers of Shady Grove Baptist Church, Gaffney. Monday, Aug. 11-Wednesday, Aug. 13 services will begin at 7 p.m.


2:30 p.m. & 7 p.m.: Bethel Baptist Church holds it Annual Homecoming and Revival Services beginning Sunday, Aug. 10 at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Sumter Franklin and the Monarch Baptist Church congregation as our guests. Monday through Wednesday revival services will begin at 7 p.m. nightly with Bishop Joseph K. Stringfellow of Emanuel Missionary Baptist Church of Chester as the revivalist for the week. Rev. James E. Tillotson, Pastor.

4 p.m. & 7 p.m.: Chambertown Community Lighthouse, 413 South Mountain St., Union, holds revival. The revival will get under way at 4 p.m. Sunday. Services will be held 7 p.m. Monday-Friday. Sunday and Monday the speaker will be Apostle G.J. McGiver of Charlotte, NC. Tuesday’s speaker will be Pastor Reggie Davis of Anderson, SC. Wednesday’s speaker will be Pastor Troy McDowell of Chesnee, SC. Thursday’s speaker will be Apostle Chris Chaney of Chattanooga, TN. Friday’s speaker will be Apostle Catherine Burks of Memphis, TN. Pastor Tyra Parham invites all to come.


Friday, Aug. 15


5 p.m.: Covenant Baptist Church holds a Chinese Auction to help raise money for a mission trip to Haiti. Hot dog plates will also be for sale.


Sunday, Aug. 17-Wednesday, Aug. 20


10:15 a.m., 2 p.m., & 7:15 p.m.: Woodson Chapel Baptist Church observes their annual Homecoming and Revival. The Sunday meeting service will be at 10:15 a.m. with Pastor Collins. Homecoming at 2 p.m. with Rev. Leon Wright, Pastor of Travelers Rest Missionary Baptist Church as the guest preacher. Revival is Monday-Wednesday at 7:15 p.m. each evening. Rev. Michael A. Glenn, Pastor of Friendship Baptist Church in Spartanburg, will be the revivalist. Come out and listen to some good preaching. The public is invited. Rev. Robert E. Collins, Pastor.


Sunday, Aug. 17-Thursday, Aug. 21


2 p.m. & 7 p.m.: The Bethesda Baptist Church, Santuck Community, opens their annual revival on Sunday, Aug. 17 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Elijah Sutton, Pastor of Thomas Chapel AME Church and congregation of Santuck. Monday-Thursday night services will begin at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Michael Bridges, Pastor of Concord Baptist Church, Gaffney. Rev. Roderick Olgesby, Pastor.


Friday, Aug. 22-Sunday, Aug. 24


6:30 p.m. & 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. & 10:30 a.m.: Fountain of Life Baptist Church, Spartanburg, holds a Women’s Conference entitled “No More Hitting Faces.” On Friday and Saturday there will be a workshop. Guest Facilitator is Elder Teon Mayweather of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in College Park, Ga. On Sunday at 10:30 a.m. First Lady Timena Sarratt will be the speaker for that day.


Sunday, Sept. 14,


11 a.m.: Padgett’s Creek Baptist Church recognizes Masons and Shriners during the morning service. All visitors are invited to attend.


Sunday, Nov. 2


4 p.m.: The Male Choir of Friendship Baptist Church, 250 Morning Drive, Spartanburg, presents a Fall Gospel Concert. The public is invited. Rev. Michael A. Glenn, Pastor.
