Thursday, July 31

7:15 p.m.: Galilee Baptist Church in the Sedalia Community holds Revival Services. At 7:15 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, Rev. Timothy Hunter, pastor of The Island Creek Baptist Church, Gaffney, will be the evangelist. The public is invited to attend.

5:45-8:30 p.m.: Fairview Baptist Church will have Vacation Bible School “Agency D3” for ages K-3 thru youth. The church is located at 763 Neal Shoals Road, Union.

Thursday, July 30-Friday, Aug. 1

6-8:30 p.m.: Augsburg Lutheran Church, 151 Connector Road (beside Brian’s Body Shop), invites children from ages 4-12 to join the fun at Son Treasure Island Vacation Bible School. This exciting adventure will lead kids to discover God’s love through Bible stories, puppet skits, treasure hunts, crafts, music, videos and much more. Refreshments will be served. Saturday, Aug. 2

9 a.m.: The Pacolet River Baptist Sunday School Convention observes its 130th Annual Session. The 2014 theme is “Preaching that Brings About Church Renewal.” The host church, Corinth Baptist Church; host pastor, Rev. J.A. Calhoun; host superintendent, Dougals Beaty; President, Lena Thompson; and Moderator, Rev. Dr. James L. Mason.

Sunday, Aug. 3

11 a.m.: Old Timey Homecoming at Padgett’s Creek Baptist Church. This is in celebration of the 230th anniversary of the church. All visitors are invited to attend and learn some of the history of this wonderful church.

Noon: Fairforest Baptist Church of Union, 1917 Jonesville Highway, Union, holds its 1st Sunday Meal. The meal includes one meat, three sides, roll/cornbread, drinks, and dessert. Meats on the menu are cube steak and fried chicken. Sides are mac and cheese, butter beans, green beans, fried okra, potato salad, and rice and gravy. Call in 427-3430. Take out available.

3 p.m. & 6:30 p.m.: St. Luke Baptist Church, 718 Lukesville Road, Buffalo, holds their annual Homecoming. The speaker is Rev. Michael E. Miller, pastor of St. Paul Baptist Church, Greenville SC. The speaker for the revival week, Aug. 4-7, is Rev. Ronnie McCrorey, pastor New Hope AME Zion Church Sedailia Community Union. Services begin each evening at 6:30 p.m. The public and churches are invited. Rev. George W. Shell, Pastor.

Sunday, Aug. 3-Wednesday, Aug. 6

2 p.m. & 7 p.m.: James Chapel Baptist Church cordially invites you to worship with us during Our Annual Revival Service. Revival will begin Sunday, Aug. 3 at 2 p.m. Co-Pastor LaQuita Griffin of Mitchell Chapel Church, Union, will be the speaker of the hour. Our nightly services start at 7 p.m. Pastor Tyenegzerial “Ned” Shell of St. Matthews Baptist Church #2 in Blair will be the speaker Monday, Aug. 4. Pastor J.C. Edwards of White Oak Baptist Church will be the speaker Tuesday, Aug. 5. Our Closing Night (Wednesday, Aug. 6) speaker will be Pastor Tony Griffin of Mitchell Chapel Christian Church, Union. 2 p.m. & 7 p.m.: The Thomas Chapel AME Church family would like to extend to you an invitation to come and fellowship with us during our Annual Revival Services. We will begin our Homecoming Services at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 3. Our speaker for the day will be Rev. Roderick Oglesby of Bethesda Baptist Church. The services for the week will begin Monday and continue through Wednesday. The services will begin at 7 p.m. each evening. The speaker for the week will be Rev. Rhudine Toomer of Mt. Olive AME Church in Kinards. Your presence and support will be greatly appreciated. If you are not able to attend, we solicit your prayers that our souls be rekindled with a fire from on high.

3 p.m. & 7 p.m.: Beatty’s Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church holds their annual revival. The Rev. Clinton J. Hall II of Bethany A.M.E. Church will open the revival on Sunday, Aug. 3 at 3 p.m. The Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday revival services will be held at 7 p.m. The Rev. Eric Rice of Trinity A.M.E. Zion Church of Whitmire will conduct the Monday-Wednesday services. Rev. Stephen V. Brown, Pastor.

Wednesday, Aug. 6

5:30 p.m.: Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church holds their Poor Man’s Supper. The menu will be pinto beans, stewed potatoes, cabbage, corn bread, and drink. Desserts are extra. Singing starts at 6 p.m. This is a fundraiser for Union Disabilities.

Wednesday, Aug. 6-Friday, Aug. 8

6:30-8:30 p.m.: Union Church of God, 1113 Thompson Boulevard, Union, holds Round Up Ranch Vacation Bible School. Join us for an exciting Western adventur VBS full of fun, games, music, crafts, and Bible lessons each night. Meals will be served to all children nightly. Friday, Aug. 8-Sunday, Aug. 10

5:30-8:30 p.m., 9 a.m.-3 p.m, 4-6 p.m.: Lockhart Freewill Baptist Church holds Blast Off Vacation Bible School on Friday from 5:30-8:30 p.m. with supper served at 5:30 p.m.; on Saturday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. with breakfast served at 9 a.m. and lunch served; on Sunday from 4-6 p.m. with the VBS program at 6 p.m. followed by an ice cream social. Ages 3 years old through middle school.

Sunday, Aug. 10

Noon-Until: Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 1622 Kelly Road, Union, serves Sunday dinner. The menu includes fried chicken, roast beef, steak & gravy, creamed potatoes, rice & gravy, macaroni pie, green beans, lima beans, slaw, rolls, tea, and dessert. Cost is $8 per person. Sunday, Aug. 10-Wednesday, Aug. 13

11 a.m. & 7 p.m.: Saint Matthew AME Zion Church, 499 Maybinton Road, Whitmire, holds its Annual Revival Service. The service starts Sunday at 11 a.m. and continues through Monday through Wednesday at 7 p.m. Rev. Eric Rice is the guest speaker. Rev. J.B. Robinson is the pastor. The public is invited to attend. Special welcome to the Glenn, Tucker, Windbush Family Reunion.

11 a.m. & 7 p.m.: New Hope AME Zion Church in the Sedalia Community holds revival. The revival will begin at 11 a.m. Sunday and will continue at 7 p.m. Monday-Wednesday. Rev. Ronnie McCrorey, pastor.

2:15 p.m. & 7 p.m.: Maple Ridge Baptist Church invites you to our Annual Revival Services. On Sunday, Aug. 10 at 2:15 p.m. the speaker will be Rev. Lee Byers of Shady Grove Baptist Church, Gaffney. Monday, Aug. 11-Wednesday, Aug. 13 services will begin at 7 p.m.

Sunday, Aug. 10-Friday, Aug. 15

4 p.m. & 7 p.m.: Chambertown Community Lighthouse, 413 South Mountain St., Union, holds revival. The revival will get under way at 4 p.m. Sunday. Services will be held 7 p.m. Monday-Friday. Pastor Tyra Parham invites all to come.

Friday, Aug. 15

5 p.m.: Covenant Baptist Church holds a Chinese Auction to help raise money for a mission trip to Haiti. Hot dog plates will also be for sale.

Sunday, Aug. 17-Thursday, Aug. 21

2 p.m. & 7 p.m.: The Bethesda Baptist Church, Santuck Community, opens their annual revival on Sunday, Aug. 17 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Elijah Sutton, Pastor of Thomas Chapel AME Church and congregation of Santuck. Monday-Thursday night services will begin at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Michael Bridges, Pastor of Concord Baptist Church, Gaffney. Rev. Roderick Olgesby, Pastor.

Sunday, Sept. 14,

11 a.m.: Padgett’s Creek Baptist Church recognizes Masons and Shriners during the morning service. All visitors are invited to attend.

Sunday, Nov. 2

4 p.m.: The Male Choir of Friendship Baptist Church, 250 Morning Drive, Spartanburg, presents a Fall Gospel Concert. The public is invited. Rev. Michael A. Glenn, Pastor.
