Crime Report


The Union County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests:

— Marshall Donald Campbell Jr., 23, of 1352 Maggie Lane, Chester, was charged with driving under suspension around 11:10 p.m. June 12.

— David Lee Comer, 48, of 2040 Jonesville Hwy., Union, was charged with assault and battery around 5:31 p.m. June 13.

— Sarah Yvonne Hill, 49, of 166 Cedar Lane, Pacolet, was charged with domestic violence around 8:30 p.m. June 13.

— David Alan Gowan, 33, of 1019 Meansville Road, Union, was charged with possession of marijuana around 12:10 a.m. June 14.

— Joseph O’Neal Stephens, 22, of 108 Webber Lake Road, Union, was charged with driving under suspension and probation violation around 2:44 p.m. June 10.

— Toney Ray Wood, 48, of 921 Main Street, Buffalo, was charged with driving under the influence around 9:04 p.m. June 10.

— Edward Matthew Sweezy, 35, of 1223 Arthur Blvd., Union, was charged with third-degree assault and battery and resisting arrest around 10:40 p.m. June 10. According to the incident report, Sweezy threatened to come to a man’s house and do harm to him by phone. The report states officers went to Sweezy’s residence to arrest him, and Sweezy told officers he was not going to jail and that they would have to come in and get him. Eventually, Sweezy came outside the residence and he was transported to Union County Jail.

— Thomas Russell Smith Jr., 34, of 726 Rice Ave. Ext., Union, was charged with failure to appear, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, and possession of marijuana around 1:50 a.m. June 11. According to the incident report, Smith claimed marijuana and $250 cash that was seized, but he said the methamphetamine belonged to him and someone else. The report states Smith later denied making the statement, but it was captured on a deputy’s body-worn camera.

— Victor Francisco Gutierrez, 44, of 142 Proctor Road, Jonesville, was charged with domestic violence around 1:35 p.m. June 11. According to the incident report, Gutierrez picked up a bed while a woman was in it, causing her to fall against a dresser. The victim stated Gutierrez also punched her in the face with a closed fist, causing swelling under her right eye. An officer took photos of the injuries.

— David Keith Paige, 28, of 403 Stutts Ave., Union, was charged with burglary, petit larceny and use of a vehicle without consent around 11:30 a.m. June 13.

— Kyle Andrew Burnett, 22, of 414 Bailey Road, Buffalo, was charged with public drunk around 4:17 a.m. June 12.

— Larry Shane Lancaster, 22, of 165 M M Drive, Buffalo, was charged with public drunk around 4:20 a.m. June 12.

— Jarrod Michael Burnett, 27, of 420 Neal Shoals Road, Union, was charged with public drunk around 4:30 a.m. June 12.

— Timothy Mitchell Justice, 27, of 885 Webber Lake Road, Union, was charged with public drunk around 4:35 a.m. June 12.

— Tyler Blake Lawson, 32, of 112 South 2nd Street, Lockhart, was charged with disorderly conduct around 12:30 p.m. June 9.

According to the incident report, deputies responded to a call about a suspicious person, and after a K-9 unit was deployed, they found Lawson coming from a wooded area with a large knife in each hand. The report states Lawson told officers to shoot and kill him, and he said the federal government had been at his house all night. The report states Lawson told officers the federal government was investigating him for molesting children. The report also states that Lawson admitted to using methamphetamine the night before. Officers attempted to get Lawson to drop the knives, and eventually a taser was deployed, striking Lawson and causing him to drop the knives. Lawson was transported to Union Medical Center by EMS, and then to Union County Jail.

— William Mark Sisk Jr., 53, of 935 2 Mile Creek Road, Enoree, was charged with driving under suspension, uninsured motor vehicle, third-degree burglary, and petit larceny around 3:37 p.m. June 8.

Kim Louise Rice, 51, of 2 Mile Creek Road, Enoree, was charged with petit larceny and second-degree burglary around 3:45 p.m. June 8.

According to the incident report, deputies responded to a burglary in progress at a residence on Buffalo West Springs Hwy. to find Sisk and Rice loading a pick-up truck with metal items from the property.

— Adrian Lamar Gory, 38, of 636 Rogerstown Road, Jonesville, was charged with public intoxication around 11:15 p.m. June 9.

— James Patrick Gaffney, 69, of 107 Lakeside Drive, Union, was charged with disorderly conduct around 9:41 p.m. June 9.

— Tommy Wayne McGowan Jr., 25, of 202 Lowery Street, Union, was charged with possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance and possession of marijuana around 2:45 a.m. June 10.

— Robert Earl Crenshaw, 46, of 2373 Hwy. 72, Union, was charged with driving under the influence, open container, and driving under the influence around 9:35 p.m. June 8.

— Karen Amy Hodge, 30, of 601 Monarch Hwy., Union, was charged with disorderly conduct around 9:55 a.m. June 8.

The Union Public Safety Department reported the following arrests:

— James Grant Furlow, 31, of 1418 Peach Orchard Road, Union, was charged with disorderly conduct around 5:05 p.m. June 13.

— Joshua Wayne Snyder, 32, of 1207 Arthur Blvd., Union, was charged with shoplifting around 6:06 p.m. June 11. According to the arrest warrant, Snyder concealed — participating and acting in consort with another individual — shoplifted a Black and Decker drill, a Black and Decker drill set, a stereo kit and an Everstart battery from Walmart in Union on June 1. The warrant states the battery was placed in a shopping cart and each of the other items was concealed.

— Christian Blake Braxton, 21, of 253 Williford Road, Union, and Jerry Ray Benton, 57, of 121 College Street, Union were each charged with disorderly conduct around 9:30 p.m. June 11. According to the arrest warrant, Braxton and Benton engaged in a physical altercation while at Benton’s residence.

—Romeo Tyrek Thompson, 19, of 1111 Lakeside Drive, Union, was charged with disorderly conduct around 12:25 a.m. June 12.

Elajuwan Davone Robinson, 22, of 362 Wise Street, Newberry, was charged with disorderly conduct around 12:15 a.m. June 12.

Kenneth Lamar Norman, 32, of 208 Monroe Street, Union, was charged with disorderly conduct around 1:06 a.m. June 12.

According to arrest warrants, Thompson, Robinson and Norman each became loud and boisterous, engaging in a physical altercation, while at an address on Lakeside Drive, Union.

— Phillip Ryan Broadus, 21, of 137 Horseshoe Circle, Union, was charged with disorderly conduct around 1:15 a.m. June 12.

— Troy Alan Prosser Jr., 23, of 114 Short Street, Union, was charged with disorderly conduct around 1:34 a.m. June 12. According to the arrest warrant, Prosser became loud and boisterous, used profane language, and threatened physical harm to a man while in the front yard of a residence on Walker Heights in Union.

— Damion Lee Byrd, 22, of 636 Blue Ridge Road, Union, was charged with driving under suspension, unlawful carrying of a handgun, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia around 8:06 a.m. June 11.

— Lisa Michelle Harwell, 45, of 119 Kissy Creek Circle, Union, was charged with driving under suspension around 11:30 a.m. June 10.

— Treshaun Dante Kelly, 24, of 1612 Pea Ridge Hwy., Jonesville, was charged with shoplifting and resisting arrest around 12:15 p.m. June 11. According to arrest warrants, Kelly concealed on his person a Sony earbud and a USB cable at Walmart in Union on June 5.

— Louise Nicole Crocker, 24, of 102 Cogdill Plaza, Union, was charged with disorderly conduct around 11 p.m. June 9.

— Treshaun Dante Kelly, 24, of 1612 Pea Ridge Hwy., Jonesville, was charged with shoplifting around 12:50 p.m. June 9. According to the arrest warrant, Kelly took a bottle of Loreal hair color from Walmart in Union on June 6.

— Robert Joseph Edwards, 59, of 2061 Calvary Church Road, Carlisle, was charged with driving under suspension, receiving stolen goods, a seatbelt violation, uninsured motor vehicle and a license plate violation around 12:45 p.m. June 8.

— Joseph Leon Rogers Jr., 33, of 324 Singing Pines, Mountville, was charged with shoplifting around 4:30 p.m. June 8. According to the arrest warrant, Rogers consumed a 5-Hour Energy drink inside Walmart in Union and did not pay for it.

— Donald Lee Rhinehart Jr., 43, of 137 Riley Road, Buffalo, was charged with shoplifting around 11:15 a.m. June 8. According to the arrest warrant, Rhinehart took an LG Tone wireless headset from the shelf at Walmart in Union, concealed it on his person and exited the store.

— Bryan Lee Green, 28, of 652 Browns Creek Road, Union, was charged with burglary, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, and petit larceny around 5 a.m. June 8. According to arrest warrants, Green burglarized a residence on Cabin Street in Union and took a DVD player, a .22 revolver and $400 in cash.

— James Matthew Moss, 24, of 109 Hayes Drive, Union, was charged with disregarding a stop sign and driving under suspension around 9:30 a.m. June 8.
