UNION — A local man was charged with attempted murder after an investigation which began in October.
The Union Public Safety Department reported Andrey Darnell Hall Jr., 23, of 203 Lakewood Drive, Union, was charged with attempted murder, trespassing, and malicious damage to property around 6:16 p.m. May 23.
According to the arrest warrant, Hall returned to a man’s residence on Chelsea Court in Union — with malice and aforethought — after being asked to leave on Oct. 31, 2015. The warrant states Hall stabbed the man in the throat with an unknown object, which caused the man to seek emergency medical attention at Union Medical Center.
Warrants also state Hall willfully broke two windows and cut two window screens at a residence on Arthur Blvd., Union, on may 23.
Hall was transported to Union County Jail.
The Union County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests:
— Jamie Eugene Brown, 28, of 634 Riley Road, Buffalo, was charged with resisting arrest and on an active warrant around 12:18 p.m. May 26. According to the incident report, deputies saw Brown walking on Buffalo Street, Buffalo on Apr. 24, and when an officer attempted to approach him, he fled on foot. The report states the officer advised Brown to stop several times, but he refused.
— Michelle Renee Haney, 45, of 1814 Peach Orchard Road, Union, was charged with attempting to purchase more than nine grams of Ephedrine in a 30-day period around 4:25 p.m. May 26.
— Trenton Zane Ray, 28, of 1418 Peach Orchard Road, Union, was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of meth and unlawful possession of a machine gun around 10:30 a.m. May 25.
— Grace Ann Beaver, 21, of 805 Linersville Road, was charged with two counts of third-degree assault and battery around 7:15 a.m. May 26. According to the incident report, Beaver punched two women in the face while at an address on Oakland Road in Union.
— Tron Duvall Minter, 33, of 690 Pine Ridge Road, Chester, was charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon around 1:15 p.m. May 23.
— Bryant O’Neal Thompson, 34, of 119 Omurrell, Greenville, was charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon around 1:54 p.m. May 23.
— Kimberly Nichole Dawkins, 30, of 32 Happy Trails Lane, Clinton, was charged with distribution of methamphetamine around 11:26 a.m. May 23.
— Tallie Dewayne Avinger, 45, of 2581 Whitmire Hwy., Kinards, was charged with four counts of attempting to possess an unlawful substance, possession of a controlled substance, distribution of methamphetamine, and failure to stop for a blue light around 11:57 a.m. May 23.
— Carolyn Revels Garde, 44, of 111 Corn Street, Union, was charged with breach of peace around 7 p.m. May 22.
— Scott Charles Darling Jr., 27, of 925 Meansville Road, Union, was charged with simple possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest around 9:10 a.m. May 22.
— Sheila Blackwell Parks, 51, of 1512 Whitmire Hwy., Union, was charged with driving under the influence around 3:20 a.m. May 22.
— Robin Tinica Thomas, 38, of 107 Wallace Street, Union, was charged with driving under the influence around 11:30 p.m. May 21.
— Thomas Russell Smith Jr., 34, of 726 Rice Ave. Ext., Union, was charged with petit larceny and simple possession of marijuana around 8:45 p.m. May 21.
— Christopher Robin Edwards, 35, of 140 Chapman Road, Pacolet, was charged with second-degree harassment around 8:40 p.m. May 20. According to the incident report, Edwards harassed a woman with calls and text messages at all hours of the night. The woman was able to show a deputy 63 text messages from Edwards between 7:53 a.m.-7:54 p.m. May 19.
— Stacey Laraye Caldwell, 19, of 752 Bailey Road, Buffalo, was charged with use of a vehicle without the owner’s consent around 8:17 p.m. May 20.
The Union County Sheriff’s Office reported the following incidents:
— A resident of Kelly Road, Union, reported on May 26 that his car was vandalized while parked at his residence between midnight May 24 and around 9 a.m. May 25. The complainant stated his entire vehicle was scratched, including profanity scratched into the vehicle. The complainant estimated the damage to the vehicle at around $2,000.
— Deputies were dispatched to the South Hills Softball Complex, located at 387 Hawthorne Road, Union, in reference to vandalism in the restrooms. The incident report states a power meter was broken; toilet paper dispensers were broken and toilet paper had been thrown throughout the restrooms; florescent lights had been shattered; and several bathroom fixtures were damaged. The report states the damage was estimated at $500.
— A resident of Buffalo West Springs Hwy., Buffalo, reported on June 21 that someone came into his yard and took a ten-ton trailer. The complainant stated the person left headed toward Spartanburg County. The trailer was described as black, 20 feet in length, tandem axle, new wheels and tires, and twin steel ramps. The trailer was valued at $10,000.
The Union Public Safety Department reported the following arrests:
— Evelyn Trunise Young, 22, of 860 South Jonesville-Lockhart Hwy., Jonesville, was charged with permitting an unauthorized person to drive around 10:20 a.m. May 26. According to the arrest warrant, Young allowed a man to drive a vehicle that was in her possession while knowing the man did not have a South Carolina driver’s license. The warrant states the incident occurred on Hillside Drive in Union.
— Kenneth Lamar Braswell, 39, of 1110 Harron Ave., Whitmire, was charged with simple possession of marijuana, shoplifting, and possession of a controlled substance around 12:45 p.m. May 25. According to arrest warrants, Braswell took a wristband valued at $136.74 from Walmart, located at 513 North Duncan Bypass, Union, and he had what was believed to be marijuana and diazepam (a Schedule IV narcotic) in his possession.
— Darron James Butler, 22, of 378 Central Ave., Whitmire, was charged with driving under suspension and failure to stop for a blue light around 2:50 p.m. May 25.
— Melanie Louise Payne, 41, of 307 North Boyce Street, Union, was charged with leaving the scene of an accident around 4:55 p.m. May 25.
— Ranada Tequila Jennings, 31, of 301 Richards Street, Union, was charged with driving under suspension around 7:07 a.m. May 25.
— Calvin Brown Jr., 45, of 116 Thomas Street, Union, was charged with driving under the influence, failure to stop for a blue light, driving without a license and leaving the scene unattended around 9:55 p.m. May 24.
— Katilyn Riley Brown, 17, of 1641 Monarch Hwy., Union, was charged with disorderly conduct at around 9:45 p.m. May 20.
— Nicole Lea Hill, 44, of 102 Eastwood Circle, Spartanburg, was charged with disorderly conduct around 9:30 p.m. May 20.
— Anthony Lamont Laney, 37, of 683 Rice Ave. Ext., Union, was charged with third-degree domestic violence around 7:15 p.m. May 20. According to the incident report, Laney poured liquor out in a woman’s residence and struck her in the face. The report also states the woman had wounds on her fingers that were consistent with bite wounds.
— Sara Victoria Duncan, 29, of 894 Hopewell Road, Blacksburg, was charged with driving under suspension around 6:45 p.m. May 21.
— Darlene Stevens Smith, 52, of 404 South Mountain Street, Union, was charged with disorderly conduct around 11 p.m. May 21.
— Brandi Julieann Northern, 39, of 104 Carem Road, Union, was charged with shoplifting around 8:45 p.m. May 22. According to the incident report, Northern took several items — valued at a total of $31 — from Dollar General, located at 410 North Duncan Bypass, Union.
— Corey Antron Gilliam, 33, of 492 Goldville Road, Whitmire, was charged with two counts of assault and battery and malicious damage to property around 7:25 p.m. May 22. According to arrest warrants, Gilliam struck a man and woman about the face, injuring the woman’s face and the man’s body, while at Tokyo House Restaurant on North Duncan Bypass, Union, on May 20. Warrants also state Gilliam destroyed $309 worth of food to be sold by the restaurant.
The Union Public Safety Department reported the following incidents:
— A resident of Cogdell Plaza, Union, reported on May 26 that someone broke out the back window of his vehicle and stole merchandise from the vehicle between 9:45 p.m. May 25 and 7 a.m. May 26. Items reported missing included 21 Polo shirts, 18 Polo shorts, 10 pairs of Levis, 10 pairs of Robin’s jeans and 20 pairs of Nike Air Force Ones. The complainant estimated the value of the stolen merchandise at around $4,000. The case was turned over to investigations.
— An employee of Naruto Japanese Cuisine, located at 708 South Duncan Bypass, Union, reported on May 25 that someone had taken $200 from the register, as well as the key that was in the register. The complainant stated the money was in one-dollar bills, quarters, dimes and nickles. Officers found no signs of forced entry.
