Two killed in three-car collision

UNION — Two people are dead following a three-car collision this past Friday.

In a statement released Saturday, Union County Coroner William E. Holcombe announced that the accident occurred shortly before 9 p.m. Friday in the 1300 block of West Main Street in Union.

Holcombe said that three vehicles were involved in the accident and that two people in one of the vehicles had died as a result of the collision.

The victims have been identified as Jimmy Dale Price, 40, Gault Avenue, Union, who Holcombe said was the driver of a 2009 Ford Escape. He said that Price died at the scene.

Holcombe said the second victim was Tousha Michelle Vinson Smith, 39, 202 Hart St., Union. He said that Smith, who was a passenger in the Escape, died at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

The accident is still under investigation by the Union County Coroner’s Office and the Union Public Safety Department.
