Crime Report


The Union Public Safety Department reported the following arrest:

— Michael Marion Fields, 52, of 212 South Church Street, Union, was charged with disorderly conduct around 3:40 p.m. Dec. 29.

The Union Public Safety Department reported the following incidents:

— A resident of West Cohen Street, Union, reported on Dec. 29 that her car was vandalized after being towed from the Union Mill area to her residence. The report states someone vandalized the vehicle with a sharp object, including profanity scratched in to the driver side door and the rear of the vehicle. Damage was estimated at $1,000.

— An employee of Union County Alcohol and Drug Abuse reported on Dec. 29 that several charges — totaling $2,000 — on the organizations credit card statement that were made in Virginia between Nov. 25-29. The employee stated the credit card is always at the building. The card was canceled and the case was turned over to investigations.

— A resident of Richard Street, Union, reported on Dec. 29 that her vehicle was vandalized with a sharp object while parked at Rose Hill Garden Apartments in Union. Damage to the vehicle is estimated at $1,000.

The Union County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests:

— Robert William Hardy, 52, of 870 Dogwood Circle, Pacolet, was charged with grand larceny around 11:30 a.m. Dec. 29. According to the incident report, Hardy took items from a residence on Holly Lane in Pacolet. Stolen items included household goods, an outside A/C unit and a wrought-iron table and lawn chairs. Items were valued at a total of $5,000. The wrought-iron table and chairs, as well as the A/C unit, were recovered.

— Matthew Dillion Scott West, 22, of 210 Youngblood Street, Jonesville, was charged with driving under suspension around 5:10 p.m. Dec. 29.

The Union County Sheriff’s Office reported the following incident:

— A resident of Elford Grove Road, Jonesville, reported on Dec. 29 that he had been the victim of identity theft. The report states the complainant received a letter from T-Mobile stating he had a past due balance of $2,364, and he stated he has never had an account with that company.
