UNION — The United Way of the Piedmont will hold two events to help the local community become more financially stable.

On Wednesday, Nov. 4, United Way of the Piedmont will hold two focus groups — one for members of the community and another for local service providers — to discuss ways to become more financially stable. Both events will be held at the Union County Advanced Technology Center, located at 1401 Furman L. Fendley Hwy., Union.

First, the focus group for local service providers will take place from 10 a.m.-noon. United Way of the Piedmont asks local service providers to come and discuss challenges they face when trying to help the community become more financially stable. Those who live or work in Union County; work with individuals and families who struggle to make ends meet each month; want to see more opportunities to help people thrive in the community; and are passionate about making the community more financially stable are encouraged to attend.

Then, at 6:30 p.m., there will be a focus group for members of the community. Union County residents are asked to discuss barriers faced when trying to become more financially stable, and participants will be entered in a raffle to win a $50 Visa gift card. Those who live in Union County; struggle to make ends meet each month; want to see more opportunities to thrive in the community; and are passionate about making the community more financially stable are encouraged to attend.
