COLUMBIA The Blue Cross BlueShield of South Carolina Foundation and BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina has made available $1 million to South Carolina non-profit organizations assisting state residents affected by catastrophic flooding.
“We are compelled by compassion to act,” stated Foundation Executive Director Harvey Galloway, “Our friends, neighbors and associates across South Carolina are experiencing an unprecedented tragedy. The Foundation’s mission directs us to be agents of change to improve the health and well-being of South Carolinians, and with this grant we can positively change the lives of many.”
The on-line application for funds is available beginning today. South Carolina-based 501(c)(3) organizations that are providing disaster-related services to residents of the affected counties may apply. Projects that may be funded include activities supporting the health and human services of those impacted by this natural disaster.
Interested non-profit organizations should contact the BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina Foundation at 803-264-7860 (Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.) or email FLOOD.RELIEF@bcbssc.com for additional information and to determine eligibility. A simple application process has been developed to provide organizations with funds to give help and to offer hope to those most in need.
