Crime Report


The Union County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests:

— Robert Lee Walton, 52, of 523 Kelly Road, Union, was charged with third-degree assault and battery around 5:47 a.m. Aug. 5.

— Randi Leigh Gregory, 27, of 609 Happy Valley Road, Union, was charged with shoplifting, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia around 9:22 p.m. Aug. 3. According to the incident report, Gregory took a pair of earrings from Family Dollar, located at 1230 South Duncan Bypass, Union, without paying for them.

— Charles Wesley McLain, 37, of 302 Toluca Street, Union, was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia around 9:58 p.m. Aug. 3.

— Harry Douglas Edwards III, 23, of 905 Old Union Road, Lockhart, was charged with criminal domestic violence around 6:30 a.m. Aug. 4.

— Brittany Elizabeth Turner, 21, and Matthew Wayne Parker, 31, both of 402 Summit Drive, Lockhart, were each charged with criminal domestic violence around 7:45 p.m. Aug. 3. According to the incident report, Turner and Parker were involved in a physical altercation at their home.

— Jeremy Lamar Sweeny, 27, of 1425 Park Street, Bowling Green, Ky., was charged with simple possession of marijuana, possession of crack cocaine, and no South Carolina driver’s license around 2:35 a.m. Aug. 4.

— Kelly Shayla Mandela, 23, of 1611 Flanigan Court, Bowling Green, Ky., was charged with simple possession of marijuana around 2:09 a.m. Aug. 4.

The Union Public Safety Department reported the following arrests:

— Jarvis Rashun Broadus, 29, of 1207 West Main Street, Union, was charged with disorderly conduct around 10:16 p.m. Aug. 4.

— Sharon Veronica Davis, 45, of 117 Pine Forest Road, Union, was charged with driving under suspension, leaving the scene of an accident on Aug. 4.

— Ronald Christopher Roach, 51, of 311 Blassingame Street, Union, was charged with disorderly conduct around 10:46 p.m. Aug. 4.

— James Hampton III, 20, of 101 Pine Street, Union, was charged with disorderly conduct around 12:25 a.m. Aug. 4. According to the incident report, Hampton caused a disturbance in the roadway of East Academy Street, Union, around 11:43 p.m. Aug. 3.

— Joseph Demetrius Jennings, 31, of 115 Brown Street, Union, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a firearm, resisting arrest around 4:19 a.m. Aug. 4.

— Marion Douglas Young Jr., 52, of 106 Cottage Ave., Union, was charged with six counts of attempting to obtain signature or property under false pretenses around 5:10 p.m. July 31. According to the arrest warrant, Young attempted to obtain a check from six people for servicing their alarm systems on Apr. 19 and July 27-29. The warrants state Young was a sales representative with Power Home Technologies, not a service technician.
