A busy day for the Rotary Club


Officers installed, Fellows honored, donations made

UNION — Tuesday’s meeting of the Union Rotary Club was a very busy one with new officers installed, Rotarians were recognized for their generosity, and the club providing support for some very deserving local charities.

New Officers

The following Rotarians were installed in the following offices for the 2016-2017 year:

• Scott Sandor — Director of Fundraising

• Buddy Smith — Director of Rotary Foundation

• Lynn Mornane — Co-Director of Membership

• Glenn Ivey — Co-Director of Membership

• Evans Crocker — Sergeant at Arms

• Lynne Burnett — Secretary/Treasurer

• John Knox — President Elect Nominee

• Annie Smith — President Elect & Director of Public Relations

• Torance Inman — President

• Robbie Littlejohn — Director of Club Administration

Paul Harris Fellows (Plus)

Tuesday’s meeting also saw six Rotarians honored as Paul Harris Fellows or Paul Harris Fellows Plus.

A Paul Harris Fellow is a Rotarian who contributes or has had contributions made in their name of $1,000 to the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International. A Paul Harris Fellow Plus is a Rotarian who has given more than $1,000.

The following Rotarians were recognized as Paul Harris Fellows:

• William Jeter

• Letha King

The following Rotarians were recognized as Paul Harris Fellows Plus:

• Pete Diamaduros (+2)

• Torance Inman (+1)

• Glenn Ivey (+1)

• John Baarcke (+1)

Donations

Rotary is about serving the community and the Union Rotary Club does that by supporting local organizations that help those in need in Union County. The following organizations were presented with donations from the club during Tuesday’s meeting:

• Union County YMCA

• Union County Crime Stoppers

• Union County Meals on Wheels

Each group received a donation of $500.
