Board Of Trustees Meeting

The Board of Trustees of the Library will have a board meeting June 28 at the library from 5-6 p.m. The meeting is open to the public.

Summer Reading Contest for Adults

Enter a drawing for a chance to win weekly prizes!

Grand Prize Drawing July 20, 2016 4-5 p.m. Must be present to win!

Contest Rules:

In order of fairness to all readers it has been decided that starting June 1, 2015 Grand Prize winners of the previous year are not eligible to enter the Grand Prize drawing.

Each participant will be eligible to enter one entry from in the Grand Prize drawing.

Read or listen to any book of your choice through June 6-July 18, 2016.

Drawing will be held once a week Wednesday until July 20, 2016.

Write the book title, name of the author and a comment of what you think of the book.

Return your entry form to the Carnegie library no later than 12 p.m. July 18, 2016.

No entry forms will be taken after 12 p.m. July 18, 2016.

Every time you read another book and submit an entry you get another chance to win weekly prizes.

(You must be 18 years or older to participate.)

What should I read? Participants can read whatever books interest them. Audio books count too!

Other Adult Summer Reading Contests

— Movie review: Once a week review a movie and return the review on the following Monday (popcorn and drink provided one per household per week)

— ASR challenges: Win small prize

— Patron’s pick or book review: patron gives their pick of a book that they have read and what they think of the book. Weekly post of reviews will be displayed in the library.

— Picture puzzle: solve the puzzle by sounding out the pictures from left to right to create a famous book or movie title. Win small prize

— Golden ticket: Tickets are hidden in library books that never get read or checked out. Patron that discovers golden ticket book wins a small prize!

June 21 — Motion Commotion for Kids 10-11:30 a.m. — Ages 6-12

June 28 — Preschool 10 a.m.-12 p.m. — Ages 1-5 Nursery Rhyme Relays!

July 12 — Summer Reading Olympic Game Party — 10 a.m.-12 p.m. for ages 6-12

July 19 — Summer Reading Olympic Game Party — 10 a.m.-12 p.m. — for Pre-school ages 1-5

July 20 — 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Craft for kids using macaroni . Ages 6-12
