UNION — The Union Music Club is pleased to announce the presentation of the Boinest Morgan Award in piano for 2016 to Andrew Benson. His piano teacher, Mrs. Carolyn Turner, nominated him for this award and states that he is talented and strives to improve his performance consistently.

Andrew is completing the ninth grade at Union County High School where he also played in the award-winning indoor percussion group. He has played the piano in National Federal of Music Club’s Junior Festival for four years with high ratings. Andrew also plays piano at his church, New Life Baptist, for special occasions and at Grace United Methodist Church for Boy Scout Sunday.

He has a good singing voice and developed an interest in playing the organ. Andrew took lessons from Tommy Bishop and hopes to continue.

The handsome gold Boinest Morgan Medal was presented to Andrew Benson on May 3, 2016 at the Grace United Methodist Church during the final concert and meeting of the Union Music Club.

Andrew’s parents are Jeff and Kim Benson.
