Post 22 chooses six delegates


For Boys State and Girls State

UNION COUNTY — American Legion Post 22 selected two delegates from UCHS to participate in Palmetto Boys State 2016, as well as four delegates to attend Palmetto Girls State 2016.

Delegates attending Boys State will be Kolby Riddle and Robert Bedore. Post 22 selection committee — headed by Mr. Al Black — conducted interviews with participants on April 19. Palmetto Boys State will be hosted at Anderson University June 5-11.

American Legion’s Boys State program is a way for young men to learn about the American system of government and politics by participating in a mock governmental system.

Post 22 Auxiliary selection committee — chaired by Mrs. Gloria Northern — conducted interviews in March and selected Ivanna Bell, Skylar Senn, Kayleigh Miller and Sarah McGee as delegates for Palmetto Girls State 2016. Palmetto Girls State will be hosted at Presbyterian College June5-11.

American Legion Auxiliary Girls State program is to educate our youth in the duties, privileges, rights and responsibilities of American Citizenship. The young ladies will learn about government and the political process.
