UNION COUNTY — The Union County High School wrestling team celebrated a successful year.

The Union County wrestlers and Coach Jon Langenfeld celebrated their year with an annual banquet held at Midway BBQ on Monday. The team was No. 11 in state duals and had 10 wrestlers who qualified for the Upper State Individual Championship. One wrestler — Debo Woods — qualified for state and finished third overall.

Langenfeld expressed thanks to team captains — Cole Seymour and Zack Williford — who led the team in the right direction, as well as Austin Gregory, who is also a senior. Langenfeld said he was also thankful for the support of Mrs. Valentine, Mrs. Lancaster, Mike Lancaster and Sandy Moss for showing great support throughout the season. He mentioned the importance of fellow coaches Scotty Kendrick, David Valentine and Mark Moss. And finally, Langenfeld expressed special thanks to the Booster Club, UCHS administration, team parents and the community.
