UNION — Some students at Foster Park Elementary School had some very special visitors this month who talked to them about their careers.

Friday, March 4, was Career Day for the second grade students at Foster Park Elementary School. Career Day was a culminating activity of the Community Workers study. Each student made a poster highlighting what they want to be when they grow up. They dressed at that person and presented their poster to the class.

In addition, several community workers visited Foster Park to talk about their careers with the students. Those visitors included:

• City of Union Mayor Harold Thompson

• Union Public Safety Department Police officer Lt. Kevin Powers

• Union County EMS workers Mark Wade, Amber Manus, and Jason Garrett

• South Carolina Department of Transportation workers Minnie Jones and Tina Laymon.

Each of these community workers were all so knowledgeable in their careers and shared so much with the students. Foster Park Elementary School’s 2nd graders love our community workers!
