UNION COUNTY — The Union County Board of School Trustees has narrowed its search for a new superintendent to three finalists.

In a statement released Monday night, the Union County School District announced the following finalists for superintendent:

• Dr. James E. Winbush, Associate Superintendent, Charleston County Schools

• Dr. Marc G. Zachary, Principal, Mary H. Wright Elementary

• Dr. William F. Roach, Jr., Assistant Superintendent for Administration in Pickens County

The district has been without a superintendent since the resignation of Dr. Kristi Woodall at the end of December.

Dr. David Eubanks, who has served as superintendent on two previous occasions, has been serving as interim superintendent since Jan. 4.

The Union County Board of School Trustees will meet in special session Thursday at 6 p.m. in the Conference Room of the Union County School District Office.

The agenda for the meeting states that the board will go into executive session to discuss a personnel matter.
