UNION COUNTY — When one local family gets together for special occasions, there are five generations accounted for.
Great-great grandmother Pearline Adams, 94, loves spending time with her family, and during a family get-together in Rock Hill, the accompanying photo was taken to document five generations of the family spending time together.
Pearline is from Union County. She moved several times with her husband who was in the military when they married in the 1940s, but eventually returned to Union County where she currently resides. She had four children — Linda Montgomery of Rock Hill, Anita Grizzle of Union, and the late Wayne Adams and Becky Goings. Pearline has three grandchildren — Wayne Montgomery, Meka Adams and Greg Harris. She has two great-grandchildren — Travis Montgomery and Tabitha Moss — and one great-great grandchild — Layne Moss.
Pearline is an active member of Foster’s Chapel United Methodist Church as well as the Carlisle Hart Sunday School class. Her granddaughter — Meka Adams — called her grandmother a strong inspiration.
“She’s very independent, intelligent kind-hearted and hard-working,” Meka said. “She still gets out in her yard and does yard work and gardening, and she still cooks. She has an outgoing personality and never meets a stranger. I just can’t say enough about her.”
