Lady Tigers beat Chesnee 17-2

UNION — The Sims Middle School Lady Tigers softball team won big against Chesnee in their first game of the season.

Coaches Brooke Rollins and Jarod O’Shields led the Lady Tigers to a 17-2 victory over Chesnee on the road Monday evening.

Pitcher Addy Ferrell had eight strikeouts, and she went three for four at the plate.

Other hitting stats included KK Robinson going two for three; Ashanti Young went two for three; Kate Burgess went three for four; Carmen Glenn went one for three; Chaniah Brown was one for one; Kendele Sullivan was two for two; Shamaria Glenn was one for two; Taliyah Thomas was one for one; and Hannah Bannister was one for one.

The Lady Tigers’ schedule for the remainder of the season is as follows:

March 11 — at Dorman — 5 p.m.

March 14 — vs. Byrnes (at Timken Sports Complex) — 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.

March 16 — at Broome — 5 p.m.

March 17 — at Landrum — 5 p.m.

March 21 — vs. Dorman (at Timken Sports Complex) — 5 p.m.

March 24 — vs. Broome and Chesnee (at Timken Sports Complex) — 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.

March 28 — vs. Landrum (at Timken Sports Complex) — 5 p.m.

March 31 — at Byrnes — 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.
