Students will also take part in regional science fair

MONARCH — Monarch Elementary recently held their annual science fair to the delight of students, faculty and community members.

Several hundred projects presented interesting and testable questions, challenging students to think and explore many possibilities and outcomes.

Winners in 5K were Clair Wilson and Parker Russell. First grade winners were Jack Archinega, Sophia Jolly, and Hannah Calli Coker.

Second grade winners were Abby Garner, Melle Ponder, Nicole Thompson, and Logan Yarbrough.

Third grade winners were Davis Rochester, Reagan Wicker, Brayden Dowis, Sara Hart, Cameron Kendrick, Jacob Kingsmore, Mason Cromer, Harrison Lawson, Mason Greer, Emma Hart, Houston Ward, Jacob Boulware, Hayden Shetley, Mason Russell, Reagan Turner, Eva Jolly, Ben Fowler, Jackson Shields, Evan Payne, Morgan Gimore , Orianna Stewart, Ireyann Jeter, And Hunter Woods.

Fourth grade winners were Garrett Ponder, Jakob Clark, Kayshaun Stevens, Michaela Purdie, Ross Arthur, Jake Glenn,Ryder Smith, Trent Horne, Omarion Feaster, Andrew Latham, Ross Docterman, Tanner Hardin, Landon Sumner, Emma Garner, Dylan Davis, Gabriel Gilstrap, Gabe Jordan, and Owen Gregory.

Fifth grade winners were Christian Edenfield, Rebecca Shugart, Cale Crawford, Kalyn Casey, Jacob Gregory, Emily Anthony, Gabrield Parker, Anna Kate Hall, Joseph Sparks, Brett Owens, Daneil Clark, Emma Cate Childers, TJ Ganer, and Ja”Maya Jones.

The school held its annual Science Fair on Feb. 9 and the PTO-sponsored event drew a large turnout of students, their parents, grandparents, and other family members to view the many science projects on display.

While attending the Science Fair, the students and their families also attended the school’s Book Fair.

A number of the students who participated in the school’s Science Fair also represented MES in the Upstate Regional Science Fair.
