MONARCH — The less fortunate in Union County got some extra help recently courtesy of the students of Monarch Elementary School.

In February, the school’s held a canned food drive they call “Souper Bowl Sunday.” The yearly event is sponsored by the MES Student Council and is designed to collect canned food to be donated to groups that help the less fortunate in Union County.

A recipient of this year’s Souper Bowl Sunday canned food drive was the Bethel United Methodist Church Food Pantry.
