UNION — A Union native will be the guest speaker at the NAACP’s 2016 Freedom Fund Banquet in May.
In a statement released this week, the Rev. James A. Williams, Secretary for the Union County Branch of the NAACP, announced that the group will hold its 35th Annual Freedom Fund Banquet at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 7 at the Pacolet River Baptist Association, 168 Lovers Land Road, Union.
Williams also announced that the guest speaker for the banquet will be Sharon Brown Harriott, a Union native who serves as Director of TRIO & Community Support Programs at Midland Technical College. Harriott is also the South Atlantic Regional Director the Alpha Kapp Sorority, Inc.
The public is cordially invited to attend.
