MONARCH — Some residents of a local nursing home and patients in an area children’s hospital got some Valentine’s cheer courtesy of students at Monarch Elementary School.

In a statement released earlier this month, the school announced that the students in the Save the Children after school program at MES had made Valentines for the residents of Heartland Healthcare of Union. The students also made Valentines for children who are patients at the Shriner’s Children Hospital in Greenville.
