Crime Report


The Union County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests:

— Richard Nichols Gregory, 38, of 318 South 5th Street, Lockhart, was charged with third-degree assault and battery around 4 p.m. Feb. 16. According to the incident report, a victim reported Gregory grabbed him and “slung” him to the ground causing scrapes on his shin and eye brow and a busted lip.

— Stephen Colt Ammons, 21, of 203 Jeffries Street, Union, and Tommy Wayne McGowan Jr., 25, of 219 Francis Street, Union, were each charged with assault and battery, kidnapping, and armed robbery around 7:30 a.m. Feb. 13.

According to the incident report, deputies responded to Lil Cricket, located at 100 North Duncan Bypass, Union, around 6:30 a.m. Feb. 13, and a man stated he was given a ride from work by two women, and Ammons and McGowan were passengers. The victim stated the woman drove to Spartanburg and took the other woman home, and he asked the driver to take him to Lil Cricket and drop him off. The victim stated at that time McGowan told the driver to go to Lockhart first to pick up something. The victim stated that while in Lockhart, he was assaulted by Ammons and McGowan, each pulled a knife on him and took his possessions. The victim stated the men instructed the driver and himself to drive to an ATM in Union to withdraw money, and the victim stated they did so. He stated he told the subjects he had to use the restroom, and at that time, he escaped and called 911. The case is under investigation.

— Matthew Wayne Boulware, 33, of 1427 Main Street, Buffalo, was charged for two active arrest warrants around 12:57 a.m. Feb. 17. According to the incident report, while talking with deputies, Boulware had a plastic bag on his person containing a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine and warrants are to be sought for a methamphetamine charge as well.

— Darby Kathleen Gann, 46, of 2624 Lockhart Hwy., Union, was charged with driving under the influence around 10:05 p.m. Feb. 14.

— Michael Wayne Horton, 25, of 346 Canupp Road, York, was charged with driving under suspension around 9:10 p.m. Feb. 12.

— Willie Lee Caldwell, 40, of 2787 Dawson Drive, Union, was charged with open container and simple possession of marijuana around 10:40 p.m. Feb. 13.

The Union County Sheriff’s Office reported the following incidents:

— A resident of Charles Walker Road, Jonesville, reported on Feb. 18 that someone scratched her entire car with an unknown object while it was parked at her residence. Damage to the vehicle is estimated at $2,000.

— A Union resident reported on Feb. 16 that his red 2004 Yamaha Rhino sport utility vehicle was missing from an address on Tuckertown Road in Carlisle. The victim stated he last saw the vehicle at that address on Jan. 20 and noticed it missing on Feb. 15. He estimated the value of the vehicle at $6,500. A report was turned over to investigations.

— Officers responded to a residence on Woodson Drive, Union, in reference to a larceny around 3:15 p.m. Feb. 13. The former owner of the residence stated she had just sold it and was still moving items out of the residence. She stated a red, white and blue box — with two gold rings, some silver rings and gold bracelets and chains inside — was missing. She valued the missing items at around $500.

The Union Public Safety Department reported the following arrests:

— Lula Pearl Palmer, 63, of 235 West Henrietta Street, Union, was charged with domestic violence around 3:30 a.m. Feb. 19.

Thomas Worthy, 58, of 205 West Henrietta Street, Union, was charged with domestic violence around 1:05 a.m. Feb. 19.

According to the incident report, officers responded to the area of West Henrietta Street in Union for a report of a stabbing. The report states Palmer was bleeding from her back and ankles, while Worthy was bleeding from his head. Both subjects stated they had been playing cards, and the report states both parties were intoxicated. The report also states a third party reported witnessing an altercation. Both subjects were transported to Union Medical Center ER by EMS, and then they were transported to Union County Jail.

— Frankie DeNorris Smith, 51, of 169 Eison Town Road, Jonesville, was charged with disorderly conduct around 5:45 p.m. Feb. 18.

— Cedric Jamaris Brown, 25, of 5618 Woodsferry Road, Carlisle, was charged with a seat-belt violation and driving under suspension around 4:50 p.m. Feb. 18.

— Erin Leigh Lane, 24, of 309 Exchange Drive, Laurens, was charged with use of vehicle without owner’s consent around 5:10 p.m. Feb. 18. According to the arrest warrant, Lane took and used a vehicle without the owner’s consent by failing to return the vehicle to the owner on Feb. 4.

— Debryan Michael Norman, 27, of 403 North Church Street, Union, was charged with shoplifting and failure to appear in court on Feb. 16. According to the arrest warrant, Norman took a cell phone from the locking peg, concealed it in his pants and acted as a lookout during shoplifting at Walmart, located at 513 North Duncan Bypass.

— Robert Dillion Williams, 18, of 388 Vernon Foster Road, Union, was charged with two counts of shoplifting, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana around 2:38 a.m. Feb. 16. According to arrest warrants, Williams took two cell phones from locking pegs and concealed them in his pants while at Walmart, located at 513 North Duncan Bypass, Union. Warrants also state Williams had methamphetamine, marijuana, clonazepam and venlafaxine in his possession while at an address on North Church Street in Union.

— Michael Cleveland Trantham, 29, of 126 Lancaster Road, Jonesville, was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving under suspension around 3:01 a.m. Feb. 16.

— Lawanda Sherice Clowney, 42, of 720 Thompson Blvd., Union, was charged with shoplifting around 9:45 a.m. Feb. 15. According to the arrest warrant, Clowney participated in taking merchandise from Dollar General, located at 410 North Duncan Bypass, Union.

— Emily Outzs Vaughan, 42, of 315 Blassingame Street, Union, was charged with shoplifting and petit larceny around 3:50 p.m. Feb. 15. According to the arrest warrants, Vaughan stole a checkbook belonging to someone else without consent while at an address on Seigler Road, Union, and participated in taking merchandise from Dollar General, located at 410 North Duncan Bypass, Union.

— Raquis Sharone Fleming, 25, of 317 South Mountain Street, Union, was charged with shoplifting and open container around 10 a.m. Feb. 15. According to the incident report, Fleming attempted to steal a speaker from Walmart, located at 513 North Duncan Bypass, Union.

— Ieshaun Jaydeece Dunn, 19, of 104 Cogdill Plaza, Union, was charged with petit larceny around 8:26 p.m. Feb. 15. According to the arrest warrant, Dunn took $53 from a woman’s pocketbook without her consent while at Family Dollar, located at 400 East Main Street, Union.

— Austen Craig Miller, 22, of 242 River Hills road, Union, was charged with simple possession of marijuana around 9:32 p.m. Feb. 15.

— Benjamin Jerome Polk, 18, of 314 McClure Street, Union, was charged with driving under suspension, simple possession of marijuana, and a seat-belt violation around 9:05 a.m. Feb. 13. According to the incident report, Polk was pulled over for a traffic stop, and he did not have his license with him but provided his name and date of birth. The report states Polk’s driver’s license came back suspended. The report states Polk gave the officer permission to search his vehicle, and the officer found no drugs or weapons, but Polk was transported to Union County Jail where he reached into his underpants and placed a rolled cigar containing a substance believed to be marijuana on the counter.

— Keiston Quzay Bishop, 22, of 107 Carson Street, Union, was charged with third-degree domestic violence around 10:20 a.m. Feb. 12. According to the arrest warrant, Bishop struck a woman in the face with his fist while at an address on Chambers Ave., Union, on Jan. 17.

— Johnna Patrice Johnson, 29, of 156 Joe Walker Road, Union, was charged with disorderly conduct around 10:20 a.m. Feb. 12. According to the arrest warrant, Johnson approached a woman’s vehicle, opened the door and attempted to fight her while at KFC, located at 510 North Duncan Bypass, Union, on Feb. 5.

— Dameian Declark Hill, 37, of 204 Hicks Street, Union, was charged with violation of an order of protection, stalking and trespassing around 5:25 p.m. Feb. 11. According to the arrest warrants, Hill went to Union Mental Health where a woman who had an order of protection against Hill was seeking treatment on Feb. 11. Warrants also state Hill entered the woman’s residence on Feb. 10.

— Steven Stephone Brandon, 35, of 105 McBeth Street, Union, was charged with public drunk and open container around 10:47 p.m. Feb. 11.

The Union Public Safety Department reported the following incidents:

— The resident of an apartment at 175 Industrial Park Road, Union, reported on Feb. 15 that she left her apartment on Feb. 11, and had just returned that day. She said when she returned, the door knob was missing and the door locks were laying on the floor inside. She said items missing included a small white microwave, two end tables, a coffee table, dishes, a small TV, two DVD players, a black iPhone 5 and white iPhone 4 — neither of which worked — a pair of women’s size 7 Timberland boots and a leather Dale Earnhardt Jr. jacket. The case was turned over to investigations.

— Officers responded to Arthur State Bank, at 100 East Main Street, Union, on Feb. 11 in reference to the vandalism of a van in the lower parking lot of the bank. The owner of the van stated she noticed small dents on the drivers side door of the van, which appeared to be shots from a BB gun or pellet gun. She stated the vandalism occurred between 10 a.m.-2:36 p.m. Feb. 11.
