‘Dixie Swim Club’ auditions begin

Auditions to be held Jan. 17 & 18 at 7 p.m.

SPARTANBURG — Auditions for The Spartanburg Little Theatre’s production of the play Dixie Swim Club will be held on Jan. 17 and 18 at 7 p.m. in Chapman Cultural Center’s theater. The production will run March 11-20 and will be directed by Dan Harvey. Roles are available for five adult women. Each character ages throughout the course of the show from her 40s to her 70s. Auditions will consist of readings from the script.

The play is about five Southern women, whose friendships began many years ago on their college swim team and who set aside a long weekend every August to recharge those relationships. Free from husbands, kids, and jobs, they meet at the same beach cottage on North Carolina’s Outer Banks to catch up, laugh, and meddle in each other’s lives, while relying on each other to get through the challenges life flings their way. Spanning a period of 33 years, The Dixie Swim Club is a hilarious and touching comedy about friendships that last forever.
