CARLISLE — Pictures with Santa Claus, the Carlisle Christmas Parade, and a community food distribution event are all part of the Christmas season in the Town of Carlisle.

Pictures With Santa Claus

The town’s celebration of the Christmas season gets under way Sunday, Dec. 6 at the Carlisle Town Hall with a visit from Santa Claus who is taking time out from his busy schedule at the North Pole to come and pose for pictures with the children of the Carlisle community.

Santa will be at the town hall from from 2-4:30 p.m. and children up to the age of 10 years old are invited to come and have their picture taken with the Jolly Old Elf. In addition to getting their picture taken with Santa, each child will also receive a gift bag.

Refreshments will also be served at the event which is for residents of the Carlisle community only.

Christmas Parade

The town’s celebration of Christmas continues Saturday, Dec. 12 with the Carlisle Christmas Parade.

Line up for the parade will begin at 1 p.m. on Thomas Street and the parade itself will get under way at 2 p.m. and everyone is invited to attend.

As with all Christmas parades, the Carlisle Christmas Parade will feature floats and marching bands and, guess what, Santa Claus who will take yet another break from his busy schedule preparing for Christmas to participate and spread some more early Christmas joy.

Once the parade is over, those attending are invited to stay for refreshments which will be served in the Carlisle Town Hall.

Food Distribution

Christmas is a Christian holiday and Christians are reminded by the creator of their faith to minister to those in need and it is that spirit, the spirit of giving, that lies at the heart of Christmas.

In keeping with that spirit, the Town of Carlisle will hold a food distribution event for those in need in the Carlisle community on Tuesday, December 15.

Mayor Mary Ferguson-Glenn said Thursday that Carlisle community residents must bring with them proof of residence to receive the bags of food that will be distributed.

The food distribution event will be held at the Carlisle Town Hall from 10 a.m.-12 p.m.
