BOILING SPRINGS — Belue Farms Natural Foods Market announces its first Winter Hay Bale Design Contest starting November 1. For the past few years, Belue Farms Natural Foods Market has showcased painted hay bales outside its store on Parris Bridge Road. Bales change with each season and have featured a number of designs from strawberries and watermelons to turkeys and holiday figures. This year, the store invites local citizens to submit winter designs with a chance to win a store gift certificate.

Harriett Belue, co-owner of Belue Farms and manager of Belue Farms Natural Foods Market, hopes that the contest will become an annual event. “If you’ve driven by our store, you’ve probably noticed our colorful hay bales. People seem to love them and each year, we have dozens of visitors take photos and selfies in front of the bales. Now we’d like to give people a chance to design a hay bale of their very own.”

The store will receive and post hay bale design submissions through December 15, and people of all ages are welcome to participate. The winning design will be transformed into a hay bale this winter, and the winner will receive a $25 store gift certificate. For reference, the store’s large, round hay bales are 48” in diameter, and smaller rectangular bales are 3’ W x 14” H x 18” D. Designs can be submitted directly at the store, scanned and emailed to info@beluefarms.com, or sent to Belue Farms Natural Foods Market, 3773 Parris Bridge Road, Boiling Springs, SC,

29316. For more information about the contest, visit BelueFarms.com or the Belue Farms Natural Foods Market Facebook page starting November 1.

Belue Farms Natural Foods Market is located at 3769 Parris Bridge Road, in front of the future Shoally Creek Elementary School opening in August 2016. Year-round store hours are Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. For more information, visit BelueFarms.com.
