UNION — Every Union County resident who is a cowboy or cowgirl at heart will be in for a treat when the Ernie Treadway Rodeo Company presents two nights of rodeo action at the 2015 Union County Fair.

This year’s county fair seeks to strike a balance between its agrarian roots through such traditional mainstays of county fairs that celebrate the various aspects of farm life including Livestock, Flower, Agricultural, Crafts, and Home Economics shows while also providing some more unusual forms of entertainment.

While cattle and horses have been and often are part of farm life and therefore fit into the category of fair traditions, they are also part of rodeos which means they also fit into the unusual forms of entertainment the fair is offering this year.

On Friday and Saturday beginning at 8 p.m each night, the fair’s arena will be filled with sights and sounds of cowboys riding bulls and horses in rodeos presented by the Ernie Treadway Rodeo Company.

Based in Liberty, SC, the Ernie Treadway Rodeo Company has since 1972 presented rodeos that provide plenty of exciting, family-friendly entertainment.

Owner Ernie Treadway said Wednesday that the rodeos his company will present this Friday will include the follow events:

• Barrel Racing

• Bull Riding

• Bareback Riding

• Saddle Bronc Riding

Treadway said that in addition to these exciting events, Rodeo Clown Marshall Green will provide plenty of laughs for the audience. He added that Tyler Brown of Charlotte, NC will serve as announcer for both rodeos.

In addition, Treadway said there will be “Boot Scramble” in which there will children in the audience ages 10 and under, will be invited to let rodeo staff pile their boots and other footwear in a pile in the area. He said the children will then have the opportunity to rush in and grab their boots or other footwear and put them back on.
