UNION COUNTY — The Union County girls tennis team’s matches last night and tonight will determine the region championship.
As of Monday afternoon, the Union County girls tennis team was 10-1, and undefeated (with eight wins) in region competition.
Last week, Union County defeated Chester 7-0 on Wednesday, and they defeated South Pointe 7-0 on Thursday. The individual game results were as follows:
Wednesday (vs. Chester)
All singles matches were 6-0, 6-0:Rebecca Lee defeated Ashley Russell.
Alexa Nance defeated Johnaya Davis.
Reid Bailey defeated Yasmine Price.
Kristin Kicidis defeated Oshayanna Sander.
Rachel Gallman defeated Kayla Reid.
DoublesCaroline Gallman and Rebecca Lee won 8-2 over Russell and Davis.
Abby Kingsmore and Kailee Stepp won 8-0 over Ashanti Dye and Sahnquavious Hemphill.
Thursday (vs. South Pointe)Rebecca Lee won 6-0, 6-0 over Ellie Gilleland.
Alexa Nance won 6-7 (2-7), 6-0, 10-4 over Josie Dibrell.
Reid Bailey won 6-2, 6-4 over Sadie Dibrell.
Kristin Kicidis won 6-1, 6-3 over Caitlyn Carter.
Rachel Gallman won 6-1, 6-0 over Breyounce Lee.
DoublesAbby Kingsmore and Kailee Stepp won 6-0, 6-1 over LaDiasha Davis and Darcy Roberts.
Union County’s home match against Clinton last night and away match tonight will determine the Region III-3A Championship.
