UNION — The Sims Middle School volleyball team fell to DR Hill in a final score of 3-0 on Monday.

The first game ended in a score of 25-7. Sims Coach Tracy Duncan said it was due to a lack of communication, leadership and overall movement on the part of the Tigers.

“The second game, I subbed some people in, and they did much better at communicating and moving,” Duncan said. “The third game, my subs who wanted to play, played well and talked to each other. Of course there were some mistakes, but we did communicate better.”

Duncan said the lack of communication in earlier games was the main factor which contributed to the team’s fall.

“These girls have to learn to play together and not get so upset at their teammates,” Duncan said. “We have such a talented team, there is no reason we should not be at least 5-2 in our conference. I believe we can finish the year with the last three wins if we play as a team and (they) do what I tell them to do.”
