Wildcats score Homecoming win

JONESVILLE — The Jonesville Wildcats football team shut out Landrum in a final score of 36-0 during Jonesville’s Homecoming and 8th grade night.

Highlights from Jonesville’s offense included Hagan Blackwell connecting with Jalen Murphy for a 22-yard touchdown pass. Blackwell finished with four rushing touchdowns and one passing touchdown. Ty Eison totaled four receptions for 57 yards, and Ladarius Jefferies ran in one two-point conversion.

Jonesville’s defense held Landrum to -32 yards on offense. The defense was led by Harold Farr III, Arron Owens and Joe Patterson. Patterson had one interception.

Coach Jay Voiselle was happy with his team’s win.

“We finally got the monkey off of our back,” he said.

The Wildcats go on the road to face Campobello at 5 p.m. next Thursday.
