UNION — The Sims Middle School girls volleyball team defeated Fairforest Middle School in a score of 3-2 on Thursday.

Coach Tracy Duncan said Addy Ferrell served well, along with Aubrey Thompson, Kaitlyn Davis, Ashunti Young, Kate Burgess and Carmen Glenn.

“The girls were a little sluggish to start with and lost the first game, but came back and battled to the end for the win,” Duncan said.

Duncan also said Talia Glenn played well as a setter at the net.

“We have a great team,” Duncan said. “I just want them to play together, aggressive and focused. I know we can win our matches in the future.”

Sims hosts Rainbow Lake Middle School at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28.
