UNION COUNTY — The Union County High School (UCHS) JROTC cadets “Jedi Knights” team repainted the 9/11 memorial on Highway 176.

On Sept. 8, JROTC Cadets — supported by American Legion Post 22 and the Union County Office of SCDOT — went to work repainting the memorial flag.

The Jedi Knights Team got its name from General Norman Schwarzkopf, Jr. as he named his staff during Desert Storm the “Jedi Knights.”

The UCHS JROTC Jedi Knights team is a service organization that conducts multiple community service projects each year. The 9/11 memorial is one of those projects. The UCHS Jedi Knights Team Captain is 1st. Lt. Shelby Summers.
