UNION COUNTY — A restaurant, a funeral home, and a foundation are the newest members of the Union County Chamber of Commerce.

In a statement released this week, Union County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Torance Inman announced that Fat Sam’s, The Michael A. Glenn Funeral Home LLC, and the Union County Health Care Foundation are the chamber’s newest members.

“Please join me in welcoming these three new members to the Union County Chamber of Commerce,” Inman said in announcing the new members. “We are excited to have Michael A. Glenn Funeral Home, Fat Sam’s and the Union County Health Care Foundation as members of the chamber. Each have a unique contribution to the chamber and Union County. They give back to the community and deserve our support. Please welcome them to the team.”

Fat Sam’s

Located at 514 Old Buffalo Road, Union, Fat Sam’s is open Monday through Friday. It is open 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Wednesday.

It is owned by Scott Cobb who pledges that customers will be receive “Real. Food. Fast.”

Michael A. Glenn Funeral Home

The Michael A. Glenn Funeral Home LLC is located at 361 Meansville Road, Union. The funeral home offers services “designed to accommodate the family’s wishes with sensible and affordable choices. … it is a privilege to serve the community with our knowledge, expertise and understanding … We are dedicated to providing services to all faiths and races, without prejudice.”

Union County Health Care Foundation

According to its website, the Union County Health Care Foundation “is a network of caring citizens whose goal is to identify and secure additional funding to supplement the efforts of” the Union Medical Center, Ellen Sagar Nursing Center, the Emergency Medical Service (EMS), and the Union County medical community “in providing high quality, cost effective healthcare.”

The foundation raises funds through charitable donations and fundraising events with funds raised applied to meeting the heath care needs of the people of Union County. All funds raised by the foundation go to fulfilling its mission of helping meet the healthcare needs of the people of Union County through the institutions its helps support.
