UNION — An upcoming fundraiser will be held in support of local animal rescues.
The fundraiser to benefit Last Chance Animal Rescue and Halfway There Rescue will be held from 8-11 p.m. this Friday, Sept. 11, at the David Fant Building, located at 422 North Pinckney Street, Union.
The fundraiser will include the sales of pulled pork plates and hot dogs, as well as a live band from the Columbia area.
One of the fundraiser’s organizers — Hope Small — said she hopes all dog and cat lovers will come support some amazing animal rescue groups that make a huge difference in the lives of so many dogs and cats in Union and surrounding counties.
“Last Chance Animal Rescue and Halfway There Rescue are made up of some awesome individuals who tirelessly devote their time to saving the lives of so many animals every day,” Small said. “We have so many animals at the shelter that need homes.”
Small also had a reminder for pet lovers:
“Always spay and neuter your pets and adopt a shelter pet — you will be glad you did.”
Small also mentioned the Union County Animal Shelter is currently overcrowded with cats and kittens. For more information about the Union County Animal Shelter, call (864) 429-2808.
