UNION — A new local restaurant has received an overwhelming response since opening last week.

Tony’s Pizza & Subs — located at 320-F North Duncan Bypass in Union — is the company’s 11th store to open since 2005, with its 10 other stores located throughout the Upstate.

Brian Shelton, Director of Operations, said he can’t thank the citizens of Union County enough for the positive response they have shown since the store opened last Monday.

“The response has been overwhelming — the community has embraced us with open arms,” Shelton said, mentioning that customers’ patience has been appreciated during the store’s first week.

“We’ve tried to make this opening as smooth as possible, and hopefully we’re creating lifelong fans of Tony’s Pizza & Subs.”

Shelton said he is confident that the restaurant has a great staff, which he said has worked tirelessly each day to make sure guests receive the best possible customer service they can get.

“It’s not only important to make sure the food tastes great, but also that every single customer who leaves this place feels like they got great customer service,” he said.

Tony’s specializes in delivery and pick-up, and customers are also welcome to dine in.

The menu includes a variety of appetizers, salads, specialty pizzas and subs, Stromboli and desserts. Shelton said chicken wings have been very popular so far, as well as the pizzas, stuffed Stromboli and hearty subs. The dough used in all pizzas and subs is made fresh in the restaurant daily.

Tony King started the business in 2005 in Fountain Inn, and it has grown into 11 locations over the past 10 years. Shelton said if the opening of the Union store is any indication, then he expects the future to be bright for upcoming openings.

“We look forward to continuing to grow, especially if our openings go the way this one has gone,” Shelton said.

The next location is slated to open in Anderson.
