JONESVILLE — A “Back To School Bash” in the Town of Jonesville this Sunday is being sponsored by four churches to help bring the community closer together and let people know that God loves them.

Glenda Adams, Church Secretary for Jonesville Baptist Church, said that the Back To School Bash will be held Sunday from 4-8 p.m. in the old Jonesville High School football field behind the Jonesville Municipal Complex. She said the event, which is free and open to anyone who wants to attend, will feature a number of activities including:

• Door prizes

• Face painting

• Horse rides

• Bouncy houses and slides

• Music

• A car show

While most of the activities will be held on the old football field behind the municipal complex, Adams said the car show will be held in the municipal complex parking lot on Main Street.

In addition to the activities, Adams said there will be free food including hamburgers, hot dogs, and drinks.

“We’re prepared for a big crowd,” Adams said.

While the event is intended to be a time of fun for families, it has a very serious purpose as well.

Adams said the Back To School Bash is being sponsored by Jonesville Baptist Church, Bethany Baptist Church, Foster Chapel Baptist Church, and Oakbrook Community Church. She said they are sponsoring the event to build on the success of a recent community revival and continue bringing the community closer together and people closer to God.

“We had a community revival in April that got a lot of positive response,” Adam said said. “The Back To School Bash is about continuing that success and bringing the community closer together.

“We want to give people insights into each of the churches,” she said. “We want to tell them that God loves them.”
