FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA — A Union County resident continued his run of strong performanceS in track competition earlier this month.
Michael S. Guinn Jr. is the son of Michael S. Sr. and Audrey Guinn and a graduate of Union County High School who is currently enrolled at Emmanuel College in Franklin Springs, Ga. where he is majoring in Business Management.
Guinn is also a member of the college’s Track and Field Team where he has distinguished himself by leading the 4X1 team to the state finals in 2014 and 2015 while also qualifying for the state finals in the 100-meter with a time of 11.2. His performance in track and field recently won him a slot in the National Indoor Track and Field Championships in New York City in February where he ran in the 60 meter and finished in the Top 15.
More recently, Guinn has continued to excel, this time at the Outdoor Track and Field Competition at Rome, Ga. on Saturday, March 4. Guinn qualified to compete in the NCCAA Outdoor Championship in the 100 Meter. He also ran 23.3 in the 200 Meter and as a member of the relay team came in 4th place in the 4X100 Relay.
