UNION COUNTY — For the third year in a row, the Union County Recreation Department will sponsor a free Easter event for local children.

The Union County Recreation Department will present the 3rd Annual Evening Easter Egg Scramble from 3-5 p.m. this Saturday, April 12. The event will take place rain or shine, and is free to the public.

This year, the event will take place at Union County Stadium.

“Because of the circus going on at the fairgrounds, we decided to have it at the stadium this year,” said Recreation Department Program Director Jessica Gallman. “That way, as soon as the scramble is over, they can go right over and see the circus.”

Egg Scramble festivities will include face painting and games for children, visit with the Easter Bunny, prizes and more. Children will need to bring their own baskets and each child must be accompanied by an adult.

The “scrambles” begin at 4:30 p.m. and are divided into three age categories — 1-3 years old, 4-7 years old, and 8-10 years old.
