UNION — USC Union will host a stage play in April with a cast made up of university students as well as members of the community.
Rehearsals have officially begun for a stage production of Thornton Wilder’s “Our Town,” which will be held April 26-27 in the USC Union Auditorium.
“We’ve had an amazing turnout this year,” said director Amber Crocker, who has directed several previous productions at USC Union. “I am so grateful to have the community involved.”
Crocker explained that this play requires a much larger cast than those of the past several years, and auditions were opened to members of the community. Crocker complimented Caroline Morgan for getting the word out about auditions and the production itself. Morgan had originally intended to co-direct the play with Crocker, but she had to resign due to travel requirements with her career.
Crocker said the response from the community was inspiring, and she looks forward to working with all of the members of the cast and crew who are new to theatre at USC Union.
The cast of the play includes Richard Burgess, Chris Spencer, Derrick Means, Jasmine Craig, Coley Touzel, Bonnie Baker, Doyle Wheatley, Taylor Grant, Cassandra Sinclair, Shyanne Haney, Rod Richardson, Floyd Small, Cheryl Creech, Everette Leigh, Nicole Glenn, Michelle Austin, John Crocker and Rob Cipriano.
The stage crew includes Alexis Taylor, Rashad Green, Brandon Pitts, Tommy McGowan, Jaquan Foster, Darius Orr and Cody Sinclair.
Look for more information about the play as it becomes available in upcoming editions of The Union Daily Times and on www.uniondailytimes.com.
