Boys Basketball

The Sims Tigers boys basketball team lost to DR Hill at home on Monday with a final score of 56-21.

Coach Darryl Phillips said the team started out the way it should have — by making lay ups and giving good passes.

“We led 6-0 and then we fell apart and turned the ball over, missed lay ups, and just gave up,” Phillips said.

Desman Kershaw fouled out with one point before halftime. Quadrik Smith scored six points; Kenneth Tucker, Jr. scored four points; and Tyus Savage scored seven points.

“We have five more games to try to find the heart to play smart and hard,” Phillips said.

Girls Basketball

The Sims Tigers girls basketball team ousted DR Hill with a final score of 24-22.

Sims’ leading scorers were Zykeria Sumter with eight points and Tyzahnie Jeter with five points. Sumter and Jeter have led the Lady Tigers in points for the past three games.

The Lady Tigers are 1-3 since coming back from Christmas break and 2-6 overall.
