UNION COUNTY — The Union County Yellow Jackets girls basketball team won Friday’s home conference game against Chapman by a score of 70-46.
“Overall, I was proud of the team,” said Coach Angela Burke. “Everyone had a part in this win offensively and/or defensively.”
Chelise Morman (junior) led the Jackets in both points and rebounds. She scored 24 points, had 18 rebounds, two assists, seven steals, two blocks, and a charge. Mariana Eison (junior) scored 18 points and had six steals, nine rebounds, and three assists. Dexlie Inman (sophomore) scored seven points and had five steals, three rebounds and seven assists. Di’Aundria Thomas (junior) scored eight points and had four steals, one block and five rebounds. Brooke Smith (freshman) had eight points, one steal and one assist. Alexis Beatty (freshman) had three points, two steals, two rebounds, and one assist. Alexis Garrett (sophomore) had two points and seven rebounds. Nia Smith, Kendell Henderson, and Asia Tucker each attributed one steal a piece, and Tucker also had two rebounds.
“We are taking it one game at a time,” Burke said. “I have a very young team, but the girls are improving game by game.”
