UNION — The Sims Middle School boys basketball team fell to Woodruff in a final score of 47-28.

Despite the loss, Coach Darryl Phillips was positive about his team.

“Desman Kershaw was awesome,” Phillips said. “He had only five points, but a ton of blocked shots and rebounds.”

Phillips said Devin Richards, who also had five points, has improved his play.

“The team is playing better, with more hustle and good defense,” Phillips said. “They will turn the rest of the season around.”

Tyus Savage had eight points; Quadrik Smith had four points; and Kenneth Tucker Jr. and Malik Porter each had three points.
