Saturday, Sept. 28
7 a.m.: Crestview Baptist Church holds a yard sale in the West Towne Plaza with all funds raised going to the church building fund. The sale will feature antiques, furniture, clothes, tools, toys, and miscellaneous items.
11 a.m.-3 p.m.: Channel of Blessing Ministry sponsors a Community Block Party for low income families at the Union County Stadium. There will be a live band; a large bounce house, horse rides, and other activities for children; and a free hot dog lunch. Gifts will be given away as long as the supply lasts.
Sunday, Sept. 29
10 a.m.: The Pastoral Ordination Services for Pastor Anita Jackson will be held at Kingdom Assembly Outreach Center (1514 South Highway 14 in Greer). Pastor Anita Jackson serves in ministry in various capacities from being an Elder, preaching the gospel, leading the Women of Divine Power Ministry as well as being a YMCA certified fitness trainer and overseeing the Kingdom Assembly Outreach Center Fitness Center. 10 a.m.: The Mary B. Thomas Girls Youth Circle Unit #16 will be having their Second Sit-In at Fosters Chapel Baptist Church 805 Spartanburg Highway, Jonesville. These young ladies exemplify excellence in conduct, moral attitude, appearance, and charity. They will be participating in the morning service.
2 p.m.: Paradise AME Church celebrates its anniversary. Rev. Warne, Dawkins, pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church, Waynesboro, VA, will be guest speaker. Rev. Michael Hill, pastor.
2:30 p.m.: The Bethel AME Church Family celebrates its Church Anniversary. The Rev. Dr. James Cooper and the Pine Grove AME Church family will be our guest speaker for this wonderful occasion. Bethel AME Church is located at 217 Hamlet Street.
6 p.m.: Jonesville Baptist Church will host The Good News Trio in concert. Join us for an evening of Southern Gospel music. A love offering will be taken.
Wednesday, Oct. 2
5:30 p.m.: The Laura Farr Sunday School Class of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, 372 Wesley Chapel Road, holds their Poor Man’s Supper at 5:30 p.m. The menu includes vegetable and potato soup, sandwiches, cornbread, and tea. Desserts extra. Singing starts at 6:15 p.m. with Voices of Truth. Takeouts call 427-5319. Everyone is invited and welcomed.
Friday, Oct. 4
11 a.m.-1 p.m.: Hebron Baptist Church serves a Soup and Sandwich Meal. Diners have their choice of one pint of vegetable soup or potato soup; cornbread or crackers; pimento cheese, chicken salad or egg salad sandwich; Pepsi, Diet Pepsi or Mountain Dew. The Soup and Sandwich Meal is $6. With dessert $7. The meal is dine in but the church will deliver orders of 10 or more. All proceeds go to the Mission trip to Nicaragua.
Saturday, Oct. 5
7 a.m.-until: First Baptist Church, Union, holds a yard sale/upscale clothing sale. Some funds will go to missions.
10 a.m.-3 p.m.: The Mary B. Thomas Girls Youth Circle Unit #16 will have a booth at Empowerment Day at The Jonesville Municipal Complex, 131 N. Main St., Jonesville. Please come out and help them support the cause for finding a cure for cancer.
Sunday, Oct. 6
10:30 a.m.: New Hope Baptist Church, Linersville Road, Buffalo, holds Pastor Appreciation Day with special singing by The Over Home Boys from Morristown, TN. Rev. Johnny Burgess, pastor. Everyone is welcome.
Wednesday, Oct. 9 - Saturday, Oct. 12
7 p.m.: Calvary Free Will Baptist Church holds revival. The speaker will be Rev. Cliff Wilson. Everyone is welcome.

7-11 a.m.: St. Augustine Catholic Church, 103 E. South St., Union, holds a yard sale. A variety of items and lots of clothes will be for sale. If it rains the yard sale will be held inside.
Sunday, Oct. 13
10 a.m.: Calvary Free Will Baptist Church celebrates Homecoming. Singing will start at 10 a.m. with the Riverside Boys. The worship service will start at 11 a.m. with Rev. Cliff Wilson. Dinner will follow the worship service.
11 a.m.: Buffalo United Methodist Church celebrates Homecoming. Rev. Sheila Rogers will be the guest speaker. Everyone is invited to attend and bring lunch which will follow the service in the fellowship hall. Rev. Ron Towery is the church pastor.
11:15 a.m.: The Bethesda Baptist Church Family holds an Appreciation Program for their Pastor Roderick Oglesby Sr. on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013 beginning at 11:15 a.m. with Minister Labarius Edwards delivering the message. This celebration will continue at 2:30 pm with Bishop Joseph Stringfellow, pastor of Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church in Chester delivering the message.
2 p.m.: Mitchell Chapel Christian Church Pastor’s Aide Ministry holds a “Power Of Prayer Program.” Revs. Tony and Laquita Griffin, pastors.
Saturday, Oct. 26
9 a.m.-3 p.m.: The Mary B. Thomas Girls Youth Circle Unit # 16 will partner with The Brothers In Black celebrating Red Ribbon Week. They will be at the The Old People Grocery Store Parking Lot in Jonesville. They will also have a Yard Sale along with Hot Dog and Fish Sale. Please stop by and support the cause.
The Union Moms In Prayer group meets each Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. in the Family Life Center of Bethel United Methodist Church, 1705 Lockhart Highway, Union, S.C. This is an informal gathering of moms, grandmothers, and any other interested ladies who would like to be a part of this important ministry of praying for the students, teachers, and staff of our schools. There is also opportunity, for those who wish, to ask prayer for specific individuals. All ladies are welcome to participate. The Missionary Auxiliary of the Pacolet River Baptist Association has an Emergency Food Pantry in the rear (annex) of the town hall in Jonesville. The pantry is open Friday from 9:30 a.m. to noon and other times by calling the numbers posted on the sign at the entrance of the annex. Bring identification and proof residence.
New Emanuel Chapel Baptist Church has changed its services times to 9 a.m. for Sunday School and 10 a.m. for Praise and Worship.
Woodson Chapel Baptist Church has changed its services to 9 a.m. for Sunday School and 10 a.m. for Worship.
