UNION — The Union County Arts Council will be holding a wine tasting fundraiser in conjunction with this year’s Uniquely Union Festival. The Shelton Winery from Dobson, NC will furnish the wine for the event.
“We were approached by the Union County Development Board Director Andrena Powell-Baker about the possibility of having a wine tasting as a UCAC fundraiser during the Uniquely Union Festival,” said UCAC president Bennie Giles. “After looking into it we decided that it would be a wonderful idea.”
A ticket will give each patron the opportunity to sample Chardonnay, Riesling, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc wines.
UCAC coordinator Jackie Senn added, “We’re excited to be able to offer such a wide variety of wines. This fundraiser fits well with the Arts Council’s mission to provide artistic opportunities to the community. Wine making and wine tasting are both art in their own way.”
Tickets are now on sale for $10 each for the Sept. 14 event but, to provide a more intimate experience, they are being sold in seatings of 20. The first seating will be at noon and the final tasting will begin at 2:30 p.m.
For more information about the wine tasting, or to purchase tickets, call 864-429-2817 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Tickets may also be purchased from any UCAC board member.
